The city takes “expanded ties with overseas businesses”
as one of its key urban development strategies. Companies
from some 40 countries and regions have set up 800 businesses
in Yingkou; they include ten from the world’s Top 500 list.
Altogether, Yingkou has absorbed US$2.3 billion in foreign
investment.
The Yingkou Economic and Technological Development Area,
set up with approval of the State Council, covers 24 square
km.

It has attracted
investment from 28 countries and regions including Hong Kong,
the Unites States, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Singapore.
Yingkou also boasts the Yingkou Hi-Tech Garden, with a planned
area of 5.2 square km, which now has a sound infrastructure and
a good investment environment.
Yingkou is one of China’s top export commodities bases, annually
exporting close to US$1 billion worth of goods to some 140 countries
and regions.
Yingkou has been very successful in expanding ties with the outside
world. Thus far, it has established friendship city ties with
six foreign cites, including Oota of Japan, Jacksonville of the
United States, Tver of Russia, and Pyongtaek of the Republic of
Korea.
